I checked out this lovely place when I brought my mom and my pal Christine to Placencia for the first time. I moved to the west side of Belize back in Jan 2025, near San Ignacio, but of course visitors want to see the coastal areas. This joint was fantastic. Excellent vibe, wonderful service, and really good food. One of the best experiences I've had in Belize in terms of being in "tourist areas" and one of the overall best experiences in general. They have live music 4-5 nights a week and even have a pool there, despite not being a hotel or resort. So if your hotel doesn't have a pool and you wanna go for a non-ocean dip, just come here and have a few drinks and enjoy yourself. Don't skip this place, folks! ~ John S

Tolle Küche und sehr zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Der Fang der vorherigen Angeltour wurde hier individuell und mit Raffinesse zubereitet. Ein absoluter Gaumenschmaus. Geheimtipp: Möchtet ihr einen Angeltrip in Placencia machen, dann gerne auf die Mitarbeiter vor Ort zugehen, sie können schnell und unkompliziert eine Tour über Fin Obsession organisieren. ~ Max

Had the salbutes previously which were fantastic. Today the shrimp fritters with remoulade is just as good if not even better. Google maps couldn't take us here and we've found a lot of locations in Belize Google maps are just wrong. This place is off the main sidewalk that runs along the beach with an entry sidewalk lined by illuminated pink conch shells and 2 flamingoes. You can't miss it. Came back for dinner another night. We had shrimp on scalloped potatoes, fish cakes, and meatballs. 3 different tapas choices. Like most tapas the servings are not huge so I'd suggest trying several. All were fantastic again. ~ David L

This restaurant is amazing for its location, atmosphere, food, drinks, and service. My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary dinner here when another place was closed for an event. We did not regret it! We ate on the second floor patio overlooking the beach while the ocean breeze kept us cool. The bartender was attentive and made us amazing drinks on request that were not on the menu, even improvising in delicious ways when the "normal" ingredients were unavailable. The manager checked in on us a couple of times without being intrusive. Great vibes, relaxing and tasty. We will definitely be back! ~ Travis M

Only been in Placencia for 48h and already visited this place 2x! Their pizza is THE best I had in yeeaars 🍕🍕🧡🧡. I'm a pizza lover and they have authentic Italian style pizza, made in a brick oven with Italian flour. Purrfect. I am also a black cat lover and the Pizza-Grill part of the restaurant is called The Black Cat Pizza, so naturally, I had to stop here. If you are in Placencia, dont miss this place. The main restaurant has a pool and hammocks and a very nice upstairs area, too! Plus, their staff, first and foremost, Rex, are extremely friendly and welcoming. 🥰 ~ Salsa B

We had heard that there was a new patio just opened that had great food. They were right, the food was great but the staff were even better. A new menu for the upstairs restaurant was just being launched and the chef asked us to critique one of their dishes “on the house” and give as much feedback as possible. So delicious. They are offering a lighter menu upstairs which was much appreciated. More like a tapas selection. The new meatballs were the perfect amount of spice for someone that loves spice but not too much. We loved everything about the Bohemian! Thank you Jim, Jasmine, Gilbert, Joseph and the rest of the Bohemian staff for your outstanding service and hospitality during our 10 day stay in Placencia. Our family enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much we came back almost every day, sometimes twice a day! The freshest fish, the delicious wood-fired pizzas, the amazing breakfast seafood bennys, the tastiest cocktails, the BEST chicken fingers and fries according to my pickiest 9 year old. We had pizza a few nights ago. They have a good size traditional Italian pizza oven. It was literally the best we have had in Placencia and we have had the best in Chicago. Tonight we sat at the bar upstairs. It's a great space, upstairs and downstairs and out front by the sidewalk. Beautifully done and the lighting at night is spectacular. We heard the live music late afternoon.. not bad at all! We will probably have another meal here before we leave in a few days and we will definitely make this a regular spot to eat every time we come down here. ~ SUE B

Special occasion dinners are often memorable but it's going to be hard to beat The Bohemian. After reserving a table, the owner contacted me about dining with them. I wasn't looking for anything out of the ordinary, just a nice, quiet dinner with my beautiful wife on her birthday, but ended up with an amazing meal on the beach. The table setting was absolutely lovely and the service was impeccable. It was a perfect dining experience and I look forward to going back during my next visit to Placencia. 10/10 ~ James B

Wow, just wow! I will be dreaming about this meal until I have a chance to go back. Follow the little board walk to The Bohemian to discover this slightly hidden gem in Placencia. Or you can walk the beach to access it. The view is spectacular, but the patio where the dining tables are is small and unassuming. We ordered appetizers and sat back to enjoy the view, having no idea of what we were about to experience! We started with the barracuda beer battered bites, playfully named “beeracuda bites” with a housemade tartar sauce. These had to be the most flavorful fish bites and tartar I’ve ever tasted. The whole table was ooh’ing and aah’ing over the taste. Another flavor bomb were the boho patatas, thinly sliced potato wedges with pibil pork, cheese and a cilantro lime sauce that stole the show. Our snapper tacos and pizza were also tasty! All this with the serene background of a beautiful pool and palm tree surrounded beach. Our kids finished their meals and played in the sand while we enjoyed the breeze, waves, and sunshine! ~ Katrina T

we had the most magical day at the Bohemian! lounging by the pool enjoying cocktails, swimming in the pool, and enjoying the carribbean. Our server, Gilbert, was absolutely fabulous - friendly, welcoming, and filled with helpful information about Belize and Placencia. The owner Jim seems lovely and lives in the area. we didn't eat while we were there but people seemed to be totally digging the pizza! there was a woman on the beach giving what seemed to be great massages...next time! Exquisite food at an excellent prices. Traveled from LA to Belize and we are soooo happy we found this restaurant and bar. Right on the beach with incredible, friendly service and an outstanding chef! Everything from their banana waffles for breakfast, fish tacos for lunch , to lobster (caught that day!) for dinner. If you’re staying nearby but not ON the beach, for $10 (Belizian) you can relax at their beach and pool and enjoy the bar and restaurant. ~ Michelle M

My fiancée and I were here for the weekend and we unfortunately got rained out of the beach area but we found some solace in the restaurant. There was a a drunken escalation that was expertly handled by the staff. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and responsive. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. There was some impromptu live music. The owner actually hung out with us for a bit and was a very nice guy. Great place to hang out! ~ Christopher E

Beautiful restaurant on the water where the food, beverages, and service are all great! My husband and I ate here 3 nights in a row so we could bring the fish and lobster that we caught to get cooked here and I would highly recommend doing so as they prepare it very well. The wood fired pizza is also very nice, with a thin, crispy crust. Staff are friendly and the owner also bought us a round of drinks for us celebrating our honeymoon! ~ Victoria H

I made a dinner reservation to celebrate our 22nd Wedding Anniversary and hoped for a nice evening. It was more than we ever expected. Excellent service, Jim, the owner personally welcomed us. We were greeted and served by excellent staff, received complimentary champagne as we sat down at a romantic table for two. The food,the ambiance, everything was wonderful. This place has really good food at all times of the day! We went for breakfast and dinner in the same day and we'll definitely be back again. Sheldon was a great bartender and the whole staff is really great! Definitely recommend the eggs benedict and whatever the catch of the days is in taco or burger form. Also the chocolate cake was one of the best my wife and I have had. You won't be disappointed going here! ~ Tyler M

My family spent the day here and it was such a fun place! It was nice to swim the pool to have a little relief from the salt water, though it does have access to the ocean as well if you want any to! The drinks were great as was the service! The kitchen was closed while we were there but the staff and owners were very generous and went on the golf cart to get take out orders for us. We had the best breakfast, bacon cheese avocado omelets, banana pancakes and fresh fruit to start our morning. At night we had cheeseburgers with fries. Service was excellent. We asked questions regarding the ocean and things happening here in Palencia and our server was very patient with all our questions. she was so nice to answer the all. When you are staying in the village, don't worry about having a pool. You can take a few hours and visit the Bohemian. JOLLY is the best girl and will make sure you get the best mango margarita. Nahia and Gilbert are both great servers! The pool is clean. There is plenty of shade for the fair skin people. The bathrooms are clean. I can't wait to go back. ~ Sarah L

We had pizzas from the boardwalk side of the restaurant. Those wood fired pizzas are outstanding. We make our own pizzas at home in our own pizza oven and consider ourselves pizza snobs. Our lunch pizza was so good my husband came back for dinner pizza and beer. The guys serving us were also really nice and easy to talk to. We look forward to returning next year. ~ Hannah F

We loved the Bohemian for many reasons : - The food is very good, i had a lobster with smashed potatoes, delicious 😋 - My husband had chicken satay, same extremely good. - We came back for lunch, and had a cob salad, only fresh ingredients. - The place is very nice, clean, quiet and a great service from Joseph and the all team ! ~ Hélène d

Went for breakfast and it was delicious. We tried the biscuits and gravy and the fruit plate. Then the bake of the day came out of the oven which was a fantastic coffee cake that stole the show. The staff and owners were welcoming, friendly and great service. Great place to go spend the day at the pool too. We will be back for sure. ~ Sue W

We got to try both the pizza and the restaurant food during our stay. Pizza is perfect made with imported ingredients and was a great quick find for us. The restaurant food was the best we had in the village. Owner was on-site every time we showed up, seemed like a great guy that is proud of what he built. He should be. ~ Mike D
